Scott Wilson is joining Christian Bale in upcoming film ‘Hostiles’ as Cyrus Lounde. Hostiles debuts at Toronto’s International Film Festival this September.

Hershel Greene fans, the countdown has begun for Walking Dead’s favorite farming dad to return to our local AMC theaters! Scott Wilson will be returning to the silver screen as Cyrus Lounde in Christian Bale’s upcoming Western film, Hostiles.

Set in 1892, lead star Bale will play Captain Joseph J. Blocker as he reluctantly escorts a former rival Cheyenne chief (Chief Yellow Hawk) and his family through hostile territory. Not just any rival either, one responsible for the deaths of many of Blocker’s friends.

Yet, the Chief also happens to be dying and lost many of his own… Setting up an internal conflict for the Captain. Blocker’s original adversary is played by real life Cherokee Native-American actor Wes Saudi (The Last of the Mohicans, Avatar).

Hostiles’ Director is none other than Scott Cooper, who previously directed Bale’s Out of the Furnace in 2013. Gone Girl breakout star Rosamund Pike also stars as a shattered widow who just witnessed her family slaughtered in a raid. Alongside, will be Western film veteran Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma, Hell or High Water).

Hostiles is Scott Wilson’s first big picture since 2011

This film represents an important milestone in the career of Scott Wilson, his first movie released since 2011’s comedy Dorfman in Love. Wilson has starred on TV ever since The Walking Dead, appearing on The OA, Damien, and Bosch in recurring roles. Wilson had one film thought to be lost ‘Legion’ (1990’s The Exorcist III’s Director’s Cut) released in 2016 on Blu-ray.

The man turned 75 this past March 29th, and is still doing the rounds performing on the silver screen, on tv, and meeting fans at conventions throughout the world. That’s an actor not just on screen but at heart. At this stage in the game, a legendary actor like Scott Wilson is in the business because he loves every minute of it.

Hostiles is considered to be a fresh take on a decade’s old script penned by renowned Oscar-winning screenwriter Donald Stewart (Patriot Games, Missing, Hunt for Red October, Clear and Present Danger).

Director Scott Cooper co-wrote the script for Hostiles with Stewart. Also rejoining Cooper will be Masanobu Takayanagi, cinematographer for 2011 Cooper Directed film Black Mass.
