Fans may be excited about the debut of a new character in issue 171 of The Walking Dead, but the preview for ‘The Princess’ shows much more going on.

The zombie apocalypse is once again becoming a bigger world. Last time The Walking Dead comics expanded to introduce a new group of survivors, things didn’t turn out well for many of our favorite characters in the zombie apocalypse. Now, the same kind of threat is looming.

While it’s hard to know what kind of person ‘The Princess’ will be when she is introduced in the September 2017 issue, readers should hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Recently, it has been shown that just about anything can happen in the zombie apocalypse, no matter how safe things seem.

Recently, the official website of The Walking Dead created by Skybound released the preview page for issue 171 including three panels from the upcoming issue. Check it out here:

There is quite a bit going on in the preview page, with several characters being involved, so here’s a breakdown of the action.

More from Undead Walking

In the first panel, Michonne is talking to the rest of the group on the trip to Ohio. Everyone is listening to her, including Siddiq and Eugene. Those two men looked to be at each other’s throats at the end of last issue. It looks as though Michonne wants to see if there is something else going on in the city and gets everyone on the same page first.

Next, the city is empty. Garbage swirls in the wind as the streets remain empty. A gas station and other locations are shown to look like a ghost town, but is there something else hiding in the urban environment?

Finally, the last panel shows Eugene. He is visibly either frustrated or speechless by something he sees. Judging by the focus in his eyes, he is in disbelief at something, which may be the introduction of ‘The Princess’ or possibly someone else.
