What can be learned by looking at the cover for issue 174 of The Walking Dead comic book series titled ‘A Solitary Life’ which will be released in December?
Recently, fans have been able to learn quite a bit by looking at the covers from upcoming issues of The Walking Dead comics. Seeing Princess this month and Carl working on The Hilltop for next month are both fairly straightforward, and fans look to get more of that in December.
A fan favorite character graces the cover of issue 174, and fans should be excited to learn more about what is next for this character and how they will survive after being cast out from everyone else.
Here is the cover of The Walking Dead issue 174 titled ‘A Solitary Life’ as shared on the official Image Comics website:
Last fans checked in on Negan, he was kicked out of Alexandria and was not welcome to return to The Sanctuary. While Maggie didn’t trust him to live alone, Rick made the call for him to live alone outside of the communities.

However, Maggie still didn’t trust Negan. She sent Dante to spy on him and find out where he was going to take up residence in order to keep tabs on the man who killed her husband/father of her child.
This cover shows Negan sitting in front of a fire cooking some food in a frying pan. He appears to be sitting on a step of a house with a stern look on his face, very focused on whatever about to become his next meal.
But he is far from defenseless. A massive gun sits to his left leaning against a pillar. While he may be eating, he’s always ready to defend himself at a moment’s notice.
Plus, the excellent artwork from Charlie Adlard is highlighted by the excellent shading on Negan’s face as well as creating depth and perspective in the doorway and accentuating the character’s form with balances of light and darkness.
