By Nir Regev
Telltale Games is excited about their Nintendo Switch prospects but are in no rush to release their Walking Dead series on the console anytime soon.
Telltale Games, the authors of the wildly acclaimed Walking Dead game series (Whopping 92 Metacritic rating) are thrilled about the current outlook of the Nintendo Switch. However, in a new interview with MCVUK, Telltale’s Head of Creative Communications, Job Stauffer, alludes to The Walking Dead series not exactly arriving on the Nintendo Switch anytime soon.
The Telltale series is supposed to see its fourth and final season next year on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, MAC, IOS, Android but no Switch edition is confirmed in the mix yet. Telltale did state ‘additional consoles would be announced at a later date‘.
Though no franchise of Telltale’s is out of the running for a Switch iteration… We probably won’t see any season of The Walking Dead Telltale game series arrive this year and maybe a bit even more after that. Why? Here’s the lowdown why the flagship in many ways of the company is not necessarily in the running for immediate Switch release.
What’s the bottleneck for The Walking Dead’s arrival for the Nintendo Switch?
"“Looking at The Walking Dead, for instance, I don’t think we’re in as much of a rush right now, because looking into earlier seasons might require some additional effort to bring our content up to speed and up to Nintendo’s standards.”"
– Job Stauffer, Head of Creative Communications at Telltale Games
Nintendo Switch owners can rest easy, however, as Stauffer did state that the Switch is a perfect match for Telltale Games!
