There’s a new face coming to season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead as Garret Dillahunt joins the cast as a series regular.

Garret Dillahunt is no stranger to The Walking Dead franchise. The TWD “superfan” will be joining the cast of Fear the Walking Dead as a series regular in season 4 according to a new report from Hollywood Reporter.

At the end of season 3, the only person confirmed to be alive on Fear the Walking Dead was Kim Dickens’ Madison Clark. After floating down the spillway in Tijuana, she drifted to the side and climbed out while a little girl watched her. We don’t know who lived and who died, but we do know that there will be a new face on the show when season 4 arrives.

Garret Dillahunt, known for his roles in The Mindy Project and Raising Hope, will join the cast as a series regular. While we know that no one is actually safe on the show, the fact that he has “series regular” attached to his name means he’ll be around longer than a couple of episodes. Dillahunt’s role on the show is a closely guarded secret, but what we do know is that this superfan actually lobbied to play Negan on The Walking Dead before the role went to Jeffrey Dean Morgan. He never gave up hope of being part of the TWD franchise, and now he has arrived for Fear’s fourth season.

It’s a great time to join the show, which is in the middle of a major shift after the Clark family was sent in multiple directions at the end of the season. With new showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg taking over for Dave Erickson, and Scott M. Gimple sitting in the executive producer seat, there’s no question that Fear the Walking Dead will have a brand new vibe in season 4.

What do you think about this casting news? Are you excited about the new cast member? Will he be a friend or foe to the Clark family? Does it matter? Let us know what you think!
