Plastic Empire is a popular seller of Funko POPs and other pop culture collectibles. Fans of The Walking Dead have certainly embraced the growing collection of Funko Pops associated with the popular zombie series.
Shoppers can find Plastic Empire at conventions like Walker Stalker Con and online. And now they have opened a brick and mortar location in metro Atlanta. Plastic Empire opened its store in downtown Marietta, GA (just north of Atlanta) on December 1st and is home of a lot of great The Walking Dead merchandise and much, much more..
I had the pleasure of stopping by to shop and chat with store manager Robert Clark about the inventory, in-store specials, and more.
I asked Robert how he would describe the appeal of Funko POPs, the plastic figures known for their oversized heads which also include characters from AMC’s The Walking Dead.
Robert pointed out that POPs “cross so many genres and so many fandoms, so many TV shows and movies and comics and everything else”.
Fans can purchase one POP from each show they like or work on a collection of all the figures from just one series.
Robert also talked about the appeal for a budget collector. With a price point starting at $10, POPs are an affordable option for building a collection of memorabilia around so many different favorites in television, movies, and video games.
Personally, I do enjoy the affordability of POPs and I also love the little details in each figure contrasted with the big heads. It’s fun to see what each character may be holding or wearing that represents their character. I have a Rick Grimes POP in my collection and I love the little details down to the teeny tiny wedding ringer painted on his finger.
What else can you find at Plastic Empire?
Maybe the question should be what is NOT available at the store. Plastic Empire has a large collection of autographed collectibles, vintage toys, figures, stuffed collectibles, shirts, and more.
Robert emphasized that if a fan is looking for something specific, they are happy to try to acquire it for them.
Robert shared that shoppers can find collectibles from a variety of brands and artists in addition to Funko. He mentioned NECA, Robert English, SideShow, and Mezco as some of the many other popular brands they sell.
Great deals abound
Robert proudly shared that Plastic Empire offers “good prices, great selection”. But the prices get even better with their specials and giveaways.
The store is doing an Opening Weekend Giveaway to celebrate the store opening its doors. Shoppers making any purchase in-store are entered for a chance to win a set of Lord of the Rings Funko Pops, which includes the chase figure just released for pre-order.
The store has also kicked off its Twelve Days of Christmas special that includes a new in-store deal each day through December 12.
Day 1 offers figures in the POP Asia line for $20 each (excluding the Tossakan and gold chase figures).
So check back each of the first 12 days of December for the next great in-store deal!

You can continue to shop Plastic Empire online and at conventions. And the new store offers yet another fun way to shop and see merchandise associated with The Walking Dead and other popular franchises up close.
Many thanks to Manager Robert Clark for a fun chat about really cool merchandise!
