Who was the most valuable person from season 8 episode 8 of AMC’s The Walking Dead titled ‘How It’s Gotta Be’ and what made them the midseason finale MVP?

Well, it finally came. The season 8 midseason finale of The Walking Dead has come and gone and now fans are left waiting for the return of AMC’s zombie survival drama series at the end of February.

However, there is a lot that happened in the episode on Sunday, December 10, 2017 titled ‘How It’s Gotta Be’ that needs to be sorted out and many of the characters left some huge marks during the episode that will change the scope of the show forever.

There were some great choices out there for the most valuable person from midseason finale, but in the end, we could only choose one.

The MVP from The Walking Dead 808 is Carl Grimes

First, let’s address the elephant in the room. Carl may not have died during the midseason finale, but we learned that he is now living on borrowed time since he was bitten in the woods while eliminating walkers with Siddiq.

Carl used his situation to his fullest advantage. He put his own life on the line in order to buy time for everyone else to escape Alexandria when The Saviors escaped The Sanctuary and launched their assault on Rick’s community.

Not only that, but he was the ringleader of the plan to save the Alexandrians, pushing for everyone to leave him to deal with The Saviors at the gate and create a smoky environment where Negan’s men would struggle to find anything.

Sadly, Carl’s condition was telegraphed pretty well by the show. He wrote a letter to his father that we haven’t yet seen the contents of and while we aren’t sure what it says, odds are that it is a powerful farewell or a secret we will discover later.

Keep in mind that Carl isn’t dead. He still has some time left before he dies from the bite and returns as a member of the undead, so he may have a big part of his story left when the midseason finale airs.

He’s not dead yet, but he is making sure to get the most out of the time he has left to help the people he has grown close to since the start of his journey in the zombie apocalypse. And for that, he is the MVP from The Walking Dead episode 808!
