OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is scheduled for a release late in 2018, but recently fans got a new trailer and some interviews with analysis to learn more!

Let’s be honest, most fans had likely forgotten about OVERKILL’s game based on The Walking Dead universe. After numerous delays and setbacks, it seemed like a project that would never be brought to life.

Thankfully, hope for the game’s eventual release has been resurrected recently when a new trailer was released for the 2018 game showcasing a character, the setting, the environment, and much more.

Check out the trailer for OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead where they reveal the main character of the series named Aidan from the official Skybound YouTube channel:

Of course, there’s not a lot of gameplay in the trailer, but it does give you a look at what should be a major character in the game. There are some pretty cool moves shown off in the video, plus a baseball bat that should strike fear into anything that gets in his way.

The guys from Skybound took it all a step further. While they did share the trailer, they also broke it down with the help of Hector Navarro to find out what they thought of the video.

The trailer is broken down pretty well by Hector. He points out several of the open plots that could be developed from the character as well as identifies some things that could potentially be easter eggs for fans of the series.

Then there is the team from OVERKILL that made the game. Let’s take a look at the people behind the game in a video from OVERKILL Software on YouTube:

While the video was intended to show off the team behind the game, there is also a lot that can be learned by watching. Character models, backgrounds, environments lighting effects, development, and more.

Finally, Robert Kirkman and Almir Listo were interviewed by Marcus “djWHEAT” Graham about the upcoming game and how it relates to the world of The Walking Dead on the OVERKILL Software YouTube channel:

This interview is the final piece of new information we have from the game. Hearing Robert Kirkman discussing the input that his team has on the game from OVERKILL should add a little more realism and authentic feel to the game.

But, let’s take a look back at the first reveal trailer all the way back in August of 2014 where we weren’t treated to much of a video but did get an explanation from Robert Kirkman as to what might be in the future from the Joystiq YouTube channel:

And, of course, there was a gameplay trailer released at E3 in 2016, but it still doesn’t show enough of the game itself for fans to get excited about. Check out that video from Bloody Disgusting on YouTube:

Next: Delayed release of OVERKILL's The Walking Dead

Even after all those interviews and videos, very little is known about the actual gameplay of the game and the characters involved. However, after seeing all the work that is going into OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, there should be more hope that it will be the game fans have been dreaming of.
