The Walking Dead was the second most torrented TV show of 2017
By Adam Carlson
While ratings for television shows continue to decline, many fans have turned their viewing eyes to illegal torrents of The Walking Dead each week.
For a while, many television viewers had very few choices in how to watch their favorite shows. Now, there are so many ways to see popular shows like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead that live ratings are nowhere near what they used to be.
Some of that can be attributed to things like On-Demand viewing, DVR, or waiting to binge watch on a streaming service, but another thing that is running rampant is the watching of torrents for those who don’t have access to specific channels or networks.
Recently, TorrentFreak put together their list of the top torrented television shows of 2017 and the top two programs remained the same from 2016 with a few new shows entering the top 10 for the first time.
Check out the list as shared on TorrentFreak.com:

Since Game of Thrones is a premium show on HBO and is in its final season, there is no shock that it was the most torrented show of the year. However, for The Walking Dead to maintain that second spot is impressive considering the program is eight seasons deep and has been eliminating some of the more important characters in recent seasons.
The real surprise here is The Flash, which is above other DC programs like Gotham, Agents of Shield, Supergirl, and other superhero shows.
Missing from the list is AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead, which returned with an amazing third season that should have brought in a ton more viewers but instead failed to capitalize on a big opportunity to gain viewers.
