The Walking Dead nominated for 2018 Screen Actors Guild award

AMC’s zombie survival drama show The Walking Dead is nominated for an award by the Screen Actors Guild for Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series.

The Walking Dead is a show that never gets a lot of love from the big award shows. Despite delivering some amazing episodes and creating a universe enjoyed by millions of people on a weekly basis, critics just can’t seem to find the merits of the series.

However, there is one area in particular where AMC’s zombie survival drama series has gotten quite a bit of attention. The program has consistently been recognized for their work regarding stunts.

The Screen Actors Guild announced their nominees for the SAG Awards 2018, and once again The Walking Dead was among the nominees.

Here is the list of nominees in the category STUNT ENSEMBLE IN A COMEDY OR DRAMA SERIES:

  • “Game of Thrones” 
  • “Glow”
  • “Homeland”
  • “Stranger Things”
  • “The Walking Dead”

Of course, there is a dark cloud hanging over this nomination. The accident which claimed the life of stuntman John Bernecker is a reminder how much danger and work goes into creating the television shows and films to create the amazing visual effects that captivate viewers.

Still, seeing AMC’s zombie drama getting some love from the Screen Actors Guild is a step in the right direction for getting more recognition for the popular apocalyptic program.

Congratulations to The Walking Dead for their SAG 2018 nomination. While the competition is stiff, it would be great to see the show bring home an award for STUNT ENSEMBLE IN A COMEDY OR DRAMA SERIES.
