While it’s not uncommon for cast members of the show to have multiple projects going on, taking the lead in a series is a large undertaking. Considering she has been a major part of The Walking Dead since her debut in season 2, that puts her future status as Maggie up in the air.
To make the situation even more interesting, Deadline states that Cohan’s contract with AMC will expire after the completion of season 8.
Perhaps Cohan is doing some due diligence to see what kind of opportunities are out there in order to test the waters or maybe she or AMC is seriously considering an exit for Maggie from the popular zombie drama series.
At this time, it is difficult to know what the future holds for Lauren Cohan as Maggie Greene on AMC’s The Walking Dead. However, this will be a situation that fans of the hit show will want to pay close attention to as the story unfolds.
