Entertainment Weekly has revealed that season 8 of AMC’s The Walking Dead will include a walker who is fully nude for some unexplained reason.

Season 8 of The Walking Dead has brought quite a few changes to the future of the popular AMC zombie survival drama series and while many of them are interesting, one first coming in the second half of the season should have fans…intrigued.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the show will include a fully nude zombie in an upcoming episode. In the past, there have been nearly nude walkers, but most have been clothed or burnt beyond recognition.

The official Twitter account of Skybound’s The Walking Dead shared a tweet featuring the news about the upcoming naked walker:

The inclusion of a naked walker on the AMC program brings up many questions which will likely never be answered.

The question has to be asked of why this is happening. While there would likely be naked zombies walking around that turned while sleeping naked, showering, or participating in another activity where an individual would be nude, the idea of representing them in the show is highly questionable.

Executive producer and special effects guru Greg Nicotero spoke to EW about the walker, who wasn’t designated with a gender at the time of interview:

"“There’s an episode where we did our first fully nude walker. We’ve never done that before.”"

With ratings dropping, the show under scrutiny for promoting Scott M. Gimple, and the decision to kill off Carl, focusing and promoting something so strange seems like a bit of a smokescreen to distract from what is happening during All-Out War.
