Chandler Riggs will be on Xbox Live Sessions to play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds today at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET.

The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs will join PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ Lead Designer/Creative Director Brendan Greene to play the title on Xbox Live Sessions today (2/22). The event will be streamed live on Xbox’s Mixer Channel at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET. Fans tuning in will have an opportunity to send in questions for Riggs and win prizes according to Xbox.com. Xbox Live Sessions / Microsoft Studios Community Manager, Rukari Austin will host the show.

Chandler Riggs previously joined an edition of Xbox Live Sessions last October prior to The Walking Dead’s Season 8’s premiere to play The Evil Within 2. Today’s appearance will mark the second time Riggs has appeared on the program ahead of a Walking Dead premiere, in this case, mid-season premiere.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently home to a community of an impressive 4 million users. The game was originally released on Xbox’s Game Preview program and Steam’s Early Access last March before seeing a full release in December. The PC Steam edition has sold over 30 million copies and 4 million copies on the Xbox One since its release. The title can be described as a multiplayer last man standing-style battle royale FPS. Creative Director Brendan Greene is known to fans by his online handle PlayerUnknown. He previously created the popular ARMA 2 mod, DayZ: Battle Royale.

The Walking Dead’s mid-season finale ended with Carl Grimes revealing a walker bite moments before the credits. The preview that followed for the show’s February return showed Rick putting a cross in the ground referencing the character death.

Carl Grimes’ exit from the show came as a surprise to Walking Dead viewers and cast alike who viewed the character as untouchable. Fans have had a few months to accept the inevitable is arriving.

Riggs’ appearance on Xbox Live Sessions will arrive at a time where his character is caught in a limbo between current cast member/alumni. The walker bite has foreshadowed his final active character appearances on the series, though Governor style dream hallucination returns are always possible.
