Which character was the most valuable person from season 8 episode 9 of AMC’s The Walking Dead titled ‘Honor’ on Sunday, February 25, 2017?

There is always that one character that goes above and beyond anything imaginable during an episode of AMC’s zombie survival drama series The Walking Dead that inspires and impresses fans.

For the season 8 midseason premiere, things are a bit different. The focus of the episode was saying farewell to a longtime character after a walker bite was revealed in the previous installment of the series.

But that doesn’t mean one character didn’t stand out more than the others and deserve to be named the MVP from the episode. After some thinking, a worthy individual from episode 809 titled ‘Honor’ was chosen.

Yes, it is a little awkward to pick a character who died during an episode and spent nearly all of it laying on a cot in the sewer as the MVP, but there is a lot more to what Carl has done than just that.

More from Undead Walking

Carl continued to hammer home the idea of forgiveness, compassion, and acceptance to his father, even on his deathbed. This may have seemed a bit unnecessary, but there were some great reasons for this.

Rick had lost his way. There was a time when Rick wanted to assume that everyone had some good in them and was cautious but optimistic about the new additions to the group but always thought there was something to build off.

For the future to be bright, people need to come together. Carl’s visions for a world where everyone can come together to work together against the undead may be a bit idealistic, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be the goal.

Carl poured his heart out to his father before shooting himself in the head to prevent coming back as a walker. For that, he earned that right be the Most Valuable Person from season 8 episode 9 of The Walking Dead.
