Review of The Walking Dead episode 814: Still Gotta Mean Something
By Adam Carlson
Overall impression of TWD 814
As a whole, there was a lot going on during season 8 episode 13 of AMC’s The Walking Dead to move the All-Out War storyline while sharing several intense plot devices being told at the same time.

There was a LOT of symbolism, redemption, and vindication during the ‘Still Gotta Mean Something’ that fans of the show can really enjoy while taking steps toward the season 8 finale episode on April 15.
Positives from episode 814 included learning that Henry and Tara will be fine, Carol being able to talk about Sophia and her past, Jadis learning more about Negan, and Alden proving to be a huge asset for the people of The Hilltop and not meeting the same fate as the other prisoners.
Bad things were happening during the episode too. Rick is getting less and less likable these days, however there is hope that reading Carl’s letter will help change his bloodthirsty ways. Meanwhile, Morgan is getting more and more into ‘CLEAR’ mode, which isn’t good for anyone involved.
As a side note, Joshua Mikel, the actor who played Jared, will actually be missed. He was a horrible character, but a great actor and a thorn in the side of so many characters. It was great to have him, and the interaction between him and Morgan was fantastic.
Big picture, this was a solid episode, but it won’t have a ton of re-watch potential. It helped to clear up so many of the loose ends that were in place heading into the last two episodes of the season, clearing a way for the conclusion of All-Out War. GRADE: 8.1/10
