The Walking Dead had a lot going on in Still Gotta Mean Something and fans had some strong reactions as usual. Here are some of the best.

There were some big changes for beloved characters and some poignant callbacks in The Walking Dead last night. Rick’s murder coat reappeared, and it also seems like Rick’s word no longer means anything. Rick and Morgan went on a Savior killing spree and Morgan is clearly losing his grip on reality.

King Ezekiel was pretty harsh with Carol when he asked her to look for Henry. But she went, and she was able to find him alive. She rescued him as he was hiding in a little cove in a creek, which as a sad callback to when Sophia was hiding in a similar way in season 2 as Rick drew the walkers away from her. Back then Carol wasn’t able to help her daughter, but she leapt into action like a superhero to save Henry.

Negan and Jadis had a tense standoff when she was holding him prisoner, but he apologized for the murder of her people and made it clear that he would make it right. He invited her to come and live at The Sanctuary but she declined.

Rick and Michonne shared some tender moments of grief as Michonne tried to keep Rick grounded. She encouraged him to read Carl’s final letter but he couldn’t do it. Michonne talked about how Andrea brought her back to the world after she lost her son and how Carl and Rick kept her present in the world. She’s going to be that touchstone for Rick now and their relationship is wonderful to watch. But with so much going on there were of course some big reactions from fans. There was a lot of action on The Walking Dead this week but a lot of emotion too. It felt right for so many of the characters to reference things that have happened in the past as they head into the battle for their lives in the last two episodes of season 8.
