Rick finally reading Carl’s letter. It’s about time! It’s understandable that Rick was having a really hard time letting go of Carl and reading the letter would make it feel more real. But the time comes when you have to accept things, and Carl’s words hopefully have some more power now that Rick has taken the time to get himself together.
Eugene’s backhanded assistance. Pretending to be numb to all emotions, Eugene seemingly has no feelings at all for his former traveling companion or those working under him. On the surface, all he did was mock and threaten Gabe, but he actually did was help Gabe by pulling him off the line when he objected to helping create tools for killing his friends.
Slow playing Dwight. Negan is a master at playing games. Nearly everything he does and everything he says is a test, meaning that if you aren’t sure why he chose certain words or put emphasis on particular syllables, odds are you’re either out of the loop or hiding something.
Not killing Eugene. It would have been easy for Daryl and Rosita to kill Eugene. Not only has he vocally declared himself to be Negan, but he led the charge at the gates of Alexandria and now was supplying the people of The Sanctuary with massive supplies of ammo. But he is still a valuable resource…even though he shouldn’t be treated like a caged animal.
Aaron’s fight. He was giving it all he had. Low on food and water, he fought until he no longer could and that both impressed and scared Oceanside. After hearing his plea and seeing what it means to him, they have to join the fight and help get some kind of revenge for what Simon did, right?
Laura finally showing up. Yes, this is in the good category. I was wondering how long they were going to wait for her reveal to Negan about Dwight being a double agent. It’s always nice when a plot device returns after a little while to change up things in a major way.
