They’ve had many names over Fear the Walking Dead’s four seasons, but when Morgan arrives it signaled the arrival of the Walkers.

“Where I’m from we call them Walkers.” With that one statement, Walkers officially arrived on Fear the Walking Dead.

Over the many combined seasons of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead they have been known as many things: The undead, the dead, biters, infected. But Walkers has always been the best known name for them because they’re literally the walking dead, hence the show title. Rick’s group calls them Walkers and so the name has stuck on The Walking Dead, while the Infected has reigned supreme on Fear the Walking Dead

More from Undead Walking

Now that Morgan has arrived on Fear the Walking Dead, so too has his group’s name for the undead: Walkers. This is the first time the name has been used on Fear the Walking Dead.

Morgan’s arrival signals a bridge between the two shows and it’s only fitting that he brings his narrative with him. Where he’s from they are called by a different name, and like the stories passed down among Native American tribes, each group in the zombie apocalypse has their own name for these creatures and that name helps link you to your group.

As these worlds collide it will be interesting to see whether one name is adopted if the groups merge, or if Morgan will continue to say Walkers while everyone else uses their own term for them.

As Morgan acclimates to life in Texas there’s no question that we’ll see more hints of his past shine through, but it’s also very likely that he will be influenced by the new people around him.
