#2: Meet the Vultures

They arrived in buses, vans, trucks, and El Caminos. Once Mel and his gang rolled up outside the ballpark, they revealed that they knew what was going on inside the ballpark, and they are going to wait until supplies run out before taking over the ballpark.

We’ve seen scavengers before, but the Vultures are interesting because they don’t threaten anyone. They’re not intimidating. They’re not scary. They’re like apocalyptic hipsters.

Mel simply points out that this is what will happen, and Madison can either go along with it, or not, but nothing is stopping their plan.

Worth noting here is that the Vultures are the ones behind the flags. They’re the ones who round up the Infected and lock them away, marking the spot with a flag with the number of dead inside. We don’t know why they’re doing it, but it’s interesting that they concern themselves with clearing the dead. If we think back to the places we’ve seen with the flags, they were all picked over.
