The Walking Dead is casting walkers for season 9. If you’ve always wanted to be a walker on the show this could be your chance.

The Walking Dead season 9 is gearing up to start filming in Senoia, GA. Recently the show put out a casting call for walkers. They are looking for very slim actors to play the emaciated walkers. The actors that want to play walkers need to be available throughout May and June and the shooting will take place in Miami, FL.

Miami, FL? Could that be a clue for what might be coming in The Walking Dead season 9? Maybe Heath will reappear in Florida? You never know what might be coming up in the next season or who might return.

Or maybe this has something to do with The Whisperers? The arrival of The Whisperers was hinted at in the season 8 finale but so far Scott Gimple has been noncommittal when asked about when The Whisperers might arrive.

There is some pay, and you’ll get to attend zombie school and get made up as a walker by Greg Nicotero’s team.

Zombie school, which is run by Greg Nicotero, teaches the extras playing walkers how to move like the undead as well as growl, hiss, and moan like walkers. If the size of the herd in the season 8 finale was any indication of what is coming they will be needing a lot of walkers in The Walking Dead season 9.

If you can’t make it to Miami during May and June don’t worry, The Walking Dead often puts out calls for actors in the local Atlanta area to play walkers and to be background extras on the show.
