The Walking Dead issue 182 cover analysis: The Commonwealth Grows

The Commonwealth and The Sanctuary may have something in the works on the cover for issue 182 of The Walking Dead comics titled ‘The Commonwealth Grows’.

Lately, the people of The Sanctuary haven’t been loving the living conditions at The Sanctuary and have been vocal about their displeasure living at the former factory, particularly after the death of Sherry in The Walking Dead comic books.

The introduction of a new community of over 50,000 people was a bit of a shock to readers of the comics, but opens the door for many different storylines to develop, including those who may have been previously overlooked lately.

Judging by the cover of issue 182 which will be released in August, the people of The Sanctuary might not have to live the way they want to anymore. Check out the issue’s cover as shared on the official Image Comics website featuring two group leaders having a chat.

Pamela Milton, the leader of The Commonwealth, didn’t seem too impressed with the state of Alexandria when she arrived to talk with Rick Grimes, but perhaps her talks with John may have her seeing the people of The Sanctuary as assets.

The cover shows her talking with John outside of the former factory, perhaps offering them a more civilized place to live or explaining how their system of living works. Either way, it should be of huge interest to John and the former members of The Saviors.

There’s also a chance John might not be buying what Pamela is selling and seeing this as an opportunity to take something he wants for him and his people. Either way, John could be one of the most interesting wild cards in the talks between the communities.
