Victor Strand has to earn trust in Fear The Walking Dead season 4
By Adam Carlson
Every time it seems Victor Strand is a character making changes in his life, something happens to lose faith in him during Fear The Walking Dead season 4.
Although he’s been a part of Fear The Walking Dead since the show’s first season, Victor Strand has never really felt like a part of the main group of survivors on the popular AMC zombie survival drama series.
Whether he was bossing people around on a stolen yacht, selling out his friends, or hiding food from the other survivors, Strand always seems to have one priority in his live: his own comfort and safety.
Each time Victor does something selfish, fans hope that it will be his last and he can become a valuable and trusted part of the community….but he always seems to go the exact opposite direction.

Now that the show is nearing the halfway point in season 4, the question of why the survivors even keep Strand around has to be asked. Madison may enjoy drinking with him and want to see him change his ways, but can that actually happen.
Earning trust is very difficult after it is lost. Many people have personal friends who have done things that left them wondering if putting their faith in that person again is worthwhile or even wise.
It will take time, but if Victor wants to be part of the group in more than just a physical way, he will need to start doing more to prove that he is worthy. That means doing many things for the betterment of the group as a whole, even if it means sacrificing something of his own.
Of course, that would have to mean that Strand would need to want to change. In a show where people have been being killed off or put in danger at an alarming rate, there has to be hope that Victor can redeem himself and become a long-term asset to the survivors.
