Saturday might as well be zombie day at the inaugural Fandemic Tour in Sacramento as the newest convention in town celebrates The Walking Dead.

The zombies are coming to the Fandemic Tour in Sacramento this weekend. Saturday’s panel lineup features a day full of undead goodness celebrating The Walking Dead and zombies in pop culture. This is the inaugural event for the Fandemic Tour, we love it because it provides another great opportunity for the TWD Family to get up close and personal with members of the cast.

The fun kicks off on Saturday at noon with The Walking Dead Spotlight featuring Chandler Riggs and a few surprise guests. Later in the day there is a spotlight panel featuring the inimitable Michael Rooker, known to the TWD Family as Merle Dixon and as Yondu (“I’m Mary Poppins, y’all!”) to those who know him from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Fans who signed up for photo ops with The Walking Dead cast on hand will be able to get those photos during their designated time slots throughout the weekend. Current and former cast members scheduled for photo ops and autographs include Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chandler Riggs, Scott Wilson (who had to cancel at the last minute), Steven Yeun and Michael Rooker.

Saturday afternoon also features a panel called “Horror and Zombies within Pop Culture and Cosplay.” There’s no question that shows like AMC’s The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead brought zombies to a larger audience, but the undead have been around for years. The undead come in all shapes and sizes, and all come with different attributes and abilities depending on the canon they represent. It’s not surprising, then, that zombies are often seen in cosplays at various conventions, and this panel celebrates all of it.
