4. Official Season 9 Trailer

There’s one thing fans can always count on at San Diego Comic-Con, and that’s the premiere of the official trailer for the upcoming season of The Walking Dead. Once again AMC should be debuting the new trailer, and that might provide some clues as to what we can expect from season 9.

In 2017 the trailer gave us a look at Old Man Rick. The internet blew up trying to figure out what it all meant, but no one was prepared for what ended up happening. Though it looked like a time jump had happened, the Old Man Rick scenes were part of what Carl saw for the future, because Carl was set to die in season 8. (Fans didn’t learn that until it happened, of course, which made the whole situation even more devastating)

With so many possible changes coming in season 9 (Maggie’s uprising, Negan locked up, time jumps, Andrew Lincoln leaving, to name a few) the trailer is going to be a lot more important than in past seasons. Comic book canon has been tossed around enough that the future isn’t so certain these days, and this will be the first chance to see what the future holds for The Walking Dead.
