2. News About Lauren Cohan

Lauren Cohan has already made a splash at San Diego Comic-Con: Her face is featured on San Diego’s Metropolitan Transit System’s trolleys, winding their way throughout San Diego advertising her new show Whiskey Cavalier.

Cohan’s season 9 contract is good for six episodes of the first half of The Walking Dead’s ninth season. The door was left open for negotiation at the time it was announced because Whiskey Cavalier hadn’t been picked up yet. Now that it has the greenlight from ABC, Cohan will manage work on both series. But will her run as Maggie Rhee, leader of the Hilltop, come to an end in season 9? It’s hard to tell.

SDCC would make a great place to shed some light on Cohan’s plans, especially given that there’s a good chance we’ll see a preview and possibly a screening of her her show. Though she hasn’t made any intentions to leave The Walking Dead known, there’s a chance she might make her plans clear and SDCC would be a great place (and platform) to do it.

We’re hoping that she announces a plan to stick with both shows. She managed to convince AMC to let her work on another show on a different network and remain on The Walking Dead, so hopefully she will stick around, even if that means fewer episodes for Maggie moving forward.
