Robert Kirkman is known for creating The Walking Dead, but could DIE!DIE!DIE! be the next great franchise from the amazing comic book genius?

From its origins, The Walking Dead has gone on to be a massive franchise. With creator Robert Kirkman bringing Outcast and Invincible to the screen as well, there is a track record of success from his titles and DIE!DIE!DIE! could be the next great comic.

Kirkman is teaming up with The Walking Dead creative mind Scott M. Gimple, Image artist Chris Burnham, and colorist Nathan Fairbairn to create DIE!DIE!DIE! and the release date of the first issue is quite surprising.

According to an article on The Hollywood Reporter, the first issue of the comics will be arriving in shops sooner than expected, with a press release from Image Comics stating #1 will be in stores on Wednesday.

That’s right! July 11, 2018 will find issue #1 hitting comic shops and digital release straight from Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment!

Not to be confused with the New Zealand noise pop/punk/post-punk band, the story of the comics has an interesting description on the Image Comics website:

"“Blood will flow, Bullets will fly and the mayhem will never end, Die!Die!Die! brings all the action you could ever want.”"

The press release gives a great description of the series stating that it follows ‘a secret cabal within the United States government that influences world matters through targeted assassination. The world around us is manipulated right under our noses, mostly for the better… but sometimes for individual gain, and sometimes for the fun of it.’

Judging by the cover of the debut issue, the promise of blood, bullets, and mayhem don’t sound like an empty statement. Check out the art:

Of course, this comic is rated Mature and will contain violent content. But that shouldn’t detract from the interest regarding the series, which will publish on a monthly basis going forward and should have all the gore and violence you need in a comic book.

Next: A real life baby named Negan?

Don’t miss DIE!DIE!DIE! when it released on July 11, 2018. Pick up your copy at your local comic book or pick up the digital version on the official Image Comics website.
