Issue 200 of The Walking Dead will be a huge milestone for the comic book series and Robert Kirkman is already teasing who will die in the upcoming issue.

Milestone issues of The Walking Dead can be quite shocking. The popular series from Image Comics and Skybound has made a theme of surprising and disturbing fans in those issues, and there is no reason issue 200 should be any different.

Although issue 200 is still quite a distance away and likely won’t publish until February 2020, there is already concern that it will signal the end for a popular character in the series and one individual is very concerned that it could be one of the most iconic and longest tenured individuals in the series.

In the Letter hacks section of issue 181, a fan going by the nickname ‘Splattmandu’ wrote in to voice his concern about Michonne in upcoming issues, specifically asking about whether or not Michonne can be spared from a horrible fate after mentioning other characters like Ezekiel and Eugene.

"“You f***ers better not kill [Michonne] in issue 200. I’m telling you we still haven’t forgotten Glenn. Enough is enough and you better not do this. Kill Rick! He’s f***ed now anyway!”"

Sean replied by saying he may be on to something, adding that one of the characters he mentioned will die before issue 200. Of course, Ezekiel is already dead in the comics as one of the individuals killed by Alpha and The Whisperers to create the boundary for their territory in issue 144, which is well before the issue 200 deadline.

Robert Kirkman went one step further with his response, making a bold claim for issue 200 that may or may not come to fruition:

"“No one dies in issue #200. There, I said it. Cannon–letters columns count!”"

Of course, fans should know by now that Robert Kirkman can be a master of deception. While it would be fun to take him for his word on this, fans should still be concerned about their favorite characters when issue 200 rolls around, especially after the brutal death Glenn suffered in issue 100.
