The Walking Dead fans were treated to another first look at season 9, and this time around it’s an image of fan favorite Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon.

AMC revealed another photo from season 9 of The Walking Dead, and this time around it’s a first look of actor Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon. Though Daryl looks much the same, it’s clear that some time has passed since the last time we saw him.

The new photo of Norman Reedus comes after fans were treated to the season 9 promotional image for The Walking Dead ahead of the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20, as well as an image of Michonne on a horse. All three photos indicate that some time has passed for the survivors since we last saw them in season 8.

Here’s the latest image, which was revealed by Entertainment Weekly and shared on The Walking Dead social media channels:

As you can see, Daryl looks mostly the same, but his hair is definitely longer and so is his facial hair. He hasn’t shaved in a while, it would seem, and he’s on his way to a full beard. He’s wearing a long-sleeved shirt and his trademark vest and he’s looking off into the distance.

The image of Michonne featured a group of new people, whereas Daryl is alone. This isn’t unusual, of course, given Daryl’s lone wolf tendencies. But it does make us wonder what he’s looking at and where he is.

There’s hope that the first trailer for The Walking Dead season 9 will shed some light on what we can expect this October. With all of the news, reports and rumors circulating, it will be nice to finally have something fans can sink their teeth into.
