The supremely charismatic Steven Ogg might not be on The Walking Dead anymore, but fans will be able to find him on TNT’s new drama Snowpiercer.

Steven Ogg is returning to the apocalypse in TNT’s new drama Snowpiercer, but this time around there aren’t any zombies. Instead the world has been devastated to the point that it’s one big frozen wasteland and humans are fighting to survive. Ogg joins Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs in this television adaptation of the 2013 movie by the same name, coming to TNT in 2019.

According to Deadlline, Ogg will play a character by the name of Pike. Pike is a convict who escapes from prison after the events that send the world into chaos. The Freeze makes the world uninhabitable and so the surviving members of the human race board a massive train that makes its way around the world in a never-ending grand circle tour.

Like The Walking Dead’s Simon, Pike is the leader of his section of the train, known as the Tail. The giant train is the only habitable place left on Earth, but class division make it less than hospitable for the last remaining members of the human race. As you might imagine, some parts of the train are better than others and those who are in the less than desirable sections must fight to stay alive.

Snowpiercer is set seven years after the world froze over so enough time has passed to allow the survivors to settle into their new reality. Pike has to fight for the people in the Tail, which will be a fun role for an actor like Ogg. After seeing his performance as Simon, there’s a good chance a little bit of Simon could show up in Pike. It’s always fun to see Ogg in action, and Pike sounds like the kind of character Ogg can really sink his teeth into.
