Colman Domingo plays Victor Strand on Fear The Walking Dead and will make his television directorial debut with Fear The Walking Dead season 4 episode 12.
Fear The Walking Dead has been taking a different direction in season 4, moving away from the family drama it was in the past and moving towards an ensemble cast full of fantastic actors playing survivors with their own agendas, hopes, and dreams.
One of the characters attempting to recover from the events at the baseball diamond is Victor Strand. Played by Colman Domingo, the charismatic playboy made his debut in the first season and has struggled to be a team player and work with the other survivors.
While his character figures to be a part of season 4 episode 12, the episode will also mark a big milestone for Domingo: it will be his television directorial debut.
Domingo is no stranger to being a director. After spending many years in theatre in multiple roles, he wrote his own autobiographical one-man play titled “A Boy and His Soul” and won multiple awards for it, including the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show.
Thanks to his success, Domingo started getting starring roles in Broadway shows, again earning numerous honors for his acting as well as his dancing. Then, he directed the Broadway show “Barbeque” with critical success and will now bring those talents to episode 412 titled “Weak”.
In an interview with Hidden Remote, Colman Domingo about his upcoming television directing debut on Sunday, September 2nd:
"“I’ve been directing in theater for over 25 years so I was really sort of translating everything I knew from helming musicals and plays, to television. It’s just a slight adaptation of that,”"
Domingo’s episode will feature the survivors attempting to recover from a massive hurricane and regroup after being split apart.
Congratulations to Colman Domingo on the huge honor of making his television directing debut on a show as popular as Fear The Walking Dead, on which he also has been a character since the first season. Hopefully, season 4 episode 12 titled “Weak” is a huge success and Domingo can direct more episodes in the future.
