The Walking Dead theory: Heath could still be alive and well elsewhere
By Adam Carlson
Heath disappeared nearly two seasons ago on The Walking Dead but there’s a chance he could make an appearance in a logical way thanks to a current plot!
When The Walking Dead made Heath disappear in season 7 episode 6 titled “Swear”, fans were curious when they would see the character again or if they had seen the last of the TV version of the notable comic book character.
Fans have seen characters turn up in some of the oddest places, such as Morales being a member of The Saviors and Merle being part of The Governor’s group in Woodbury. But where could Heath end up showing up?
Near the end of season 9 episode 3, Anne was seen talking with another group on the radio looking for “an A or a B” to trade for supplies. Perhaps Heath was one of those individuals who ended up being traded.
While what the letter designation for the individuals means is still up in the air, fans will likely finally get a glimpse of what the trade is for and how it’s done now that Anne has Father Gabriel to exchange for her own passage to the community.
This doesn’t explain the “PPP” calling card found where Heath disappeared, but it does give some hope that Heath might still be alive, or the conclusion of his story may actually be told in an upcoming episode.
Of course, he could also be a part of Georgie’s group now since he never really did feel like part of Alexandria once Rick became an authority figure there or he may be part of a different community entirely, but this is a story that could use a resolution.
Of course, the real reason Heath disappeared is that the actor who plays him, Corey Hawkins, landed a leading role in 24: Legacy. However, that show ended up being canceled in June 2017 and he was in movies such as BlacKkKlansman and Kong: Skull Island following his appearance on the show.
Now would be a great time to see a return for Heath. Season 9 is going to see several familiar faces leave, so having a familiar one return before he’s been gone too long to be remembered might be a great thing for both the character and the franchise.
What do you think? Would you like to see Heath come back to the world of The Walking Dead or are you content with leaving his story unfinished with an open-ended conclusion to his fate two seasons ago? Let us know in the comments section below.
