The Walking Dead: New Judith actress is no stranger to major franchises

Time jump Judith was a welcome surprise at the end of an emotionally charged episode of The Walking Dead. Let’s get to know Judith actress Cailey Fleming.

The Walking Dead fans couldn’t stop talking about post-time jump Judith Grimes at the end of “What Comes After.” Now around 10 or 11, the young girl certainly knows what she’s doing as she took out a group of walkers like a pro. If the young actress who plays Judith looks familiar, it’s because this isn’t first major franchise for Cailey Fleming.

Fleming appeared in another celebrated and much-beloved franchise back in 2015 when she played young Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Rey has become a fan favorite and it’s not unusual to see loads of little Reys running around these days.

Now Fleming has joined another franchise and there’s every reason to believe she’ll be sticking around for a while. Take a look at the side-by-side photo of Fleming as Judith and as young Rey:

As the older version of Judith Grimes post-time jump, Judith Grimes wowed the TWD Family by saving a group of strangers from a herd of walkers before introducing herself as Judith Grimes. Fleming is perfect as Judith and her experience from other roles lends itself to the confidence she models onscreen.

(Expect to see lots of Judith Grimes cosplay moving forward, and that’s a really good thing!)

Some fans on social media commented on Judith going from blonde to brunette, but that’s not at all uncommon. Many children are born with light hair that darkens over time, and in this case young Judith looks to be the spitting image of Lori, with a dash of Carl and Shane thrown in, and her attire is definitely a nod to her “real” father Rick and Michonne, the only mother she has ever known. She’s the third member of the Grimes family, and the second Grimes offspring, to wear the iconic sheriff hat.
