The Good Stuff from TWD 906

  1. Seeing all the new character looks. Wow, Michonne, Eugene, and many others look amazing with her new look and many of the other survivors have changed in major ways too. Getting a look at how they live and what they are doing after the time jump is really great.
  2. Not giving up. Michonne said she isn’t giving up. While that can be interpreted in many ways, the fact that Rick’s body has never been found being addressed during the intro is great and sets the tone for post-Rick survival on the show.
  3. The new royal family. Ezekiel, Carol, and Henry are a mashup of survivors, but they came together with love to create a strong bond and become a family. Sure, Carol doesn’t like being called a queen, but the TWD Family has been calling her that for years.
  4. Jed and The Saviors are back. I guess those survivors that went back to The Sanctuary didn’t all go all the way back. Using these familiar protagonists as a conflict blends familiarity as well as the new stuff the time jump offers. And him taking Carol’s ring from Ezekiel adds even more fuel to the fire.
  5. Terminator Carol is back. You mess with those she loves and she WILL get revenge. For someone who looks like they wouldn’t be a massive threat, Carol has made a habit of destroying things and taking down bad people when presented with a threat. The queen has spoken!
  6. A Change of Heart. Instead of just booting Magna, Yumiko, and the survivors out of the community entirely, Michonne made the decision to introduce these new survivors to The Hilltop where their leader will make a decision on their acceptance. But who is this leader of The Hilltop now?
