The month of December is almost over. That means it’s almost a new year and with that will bring the first new issue of The Walking Dead comics of 2019. This time, it is issue 187 titled ‘The Road Back’.

Last month, fans saw tension grow even more between the groups of survivors as well as the people from Alexandria, ending with a mind-blowing moment nobody could have seen coming during an intense showdown.

While prediction what will happen is fun, sometimes it is good to get some hints about what is on the way. Let’s take a look at the preview for issue 187 of The Walking Dead comics as shared on the official Skybound site for the comic books.

In the first panel, the people of The Commonwealth have gathered to listen to Pamela Milton addressing an issue. Whether it is the riots in the streets, the killing of Dwight, or whether or not the people from Alexandria are still welcome in their community is unknown. But we do know Pamela is losing her people and needs to get them back on board.

Next, Mercer is in a crowd of people and looks quite displeased with what is going on. This could be a panel from the gathering in the first panel. If so, this will likely be something which makes his life harder and could cause an even larger strain on the relations between the classes.

Finally, Magna has called a meeting with someone in the final panel. Since she was put in charge of Alexandria while Rick and the others are gone, she has sensed that the community needs to be ready for action at a moment’s notice.

Bringing peace back to The Commonwealth shouldn’t be on the shoulders of Rick. In fact, with his strained relationship with Michonne, new distrust in Pamela, and anger over Dwight’s death, it is likely that bringing peace to the community isn’t a top priority at all for Rick. Instead, keeping his own people alive and happy.
