Mother’s Day 2019: Celebrating 10 moms in The Walking Dead universe

June, who was also once known as Naomi in Fear the Walking Dead, was once a mother. She and her daughter sought refuge in a shelter and her daughter died. This is what led Naomi to go on a journey and it wasn’t until she came upon the Clark family that she could remember what it was like to think about other people.

Later, when the groups merged, June took on a motherly role for Charlie as the youngster struggled to make sense of her world after losing the Vultures and shooting Nick. June is definitely a mother figure for the show now that Madison is gone, and her calming presence (which comes from years spent as a trauma nurse) allow her to be the voice of reason when people in the group are struggling.

As season 5 of Fear the Walking Dead approaches, and given the large number of kids that are joining the cast, there’s no question that June’s motherly traits will come in handy.
