The Walking Dead: Possible identity of the mysterious caller
By Sara Khan
The Walking Dead season 9 finale closed with a very mysterious radio call from an unknown individual, fans are now left wondering exactly who might that be.
In the season 9 finale, King Ezekiel was communicating with Judith Grimes via radio and once their conversation had ended, a mysterious radio caller came through on Ezekiel’s radio. The muddled voice was hard to hear, but one line was heard clearly:
"Hello, can you hear me? Is anybody out there?”"
This was the last line that fans were left with until the season 9 finale dramatically closed. Now it’s time to speculate as to who could have been the mysterious radio caller?
The voice had seemed to sound like a woman. This led a lot of fans to speculate as to whether or not this might be Maggie. After the time jump that happened mid-season, we found out that Maggie had left with baby Hershel, but we have no idea exactly where they went. Is it possible that Maggie may be trying to get in touch with someone because she is in a dangerous place?
Some fans even think that the mysterious voice could possibly be a character from Fear The Walking Dead. This wouldn’t be a surprising theory considering that The Walking Dead has already had two characters crossover to its sister show. Since the current The Walking Dead timeline is ahead of the current Fear The Walking Dead timeline, it is totally possible that a character from Fear The Walking Dead might have traveled to Virginia, but this is all just fun speculation of course.
A final possibility is that this is a completely new character and a possible new community that will be introduced in season 10 of The Walking Dead. Every season always introduces us to amazing new characters, so it wouldn’t be surprising if we find out next season that a new community might be behind the mysterious radio call.
Who do you think is the mysterious radio caller? Find out later this year when The Walking Dead returns for season 10.
