The Walking Dead adds two exciting cast members for season 10

After losing some major characters in season 9, The Walking Dead still has a strong cast. The talent pool gets even deeper thanks to two new additions.
Season 9 was a devastating time for many fans of The Walking Dead. Not only was a ruthless new group of villains introduced but many of the show’s long-running characters made their exit from the series.
With such a strong cast of popular characters still remaining, it was a bit surprising when it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that two new additions were coming to the show for its tenth season…and those two names were well-established actors who could bring a lot to the show.
According to Entertainment Weekly, these to actors have joined the cast in interesting roles:
Thora Birch
Best known for her starring role in the movie American Beauty, Birch has been in a ton of amazing movies and television shows in her career including Ghost World, Hocus Pocus, Parenthood, Patriot Games, and much more.
Executive producer Gale Anne Hurd confirms that Birch will be playing one of the Whisperers named Gamma, who is very protective of Alpha.
Kevin Carroll
A charismatic actor who can play a hero or a villain, Carroll is best known for his role as John Murphy in The Leftovers. He can also be seen in many other shows and movies including Lucifer, Sacred Lies, Velvet Buzzsaw, The Catch, and several Law and Order franchises.
Hurd says Carroll will play a character named Virgil who has lost his family during his time in the zombie apocalypse and is desperately trying to find his way home.
These two additions to the cast should be a huge benefit to the show. Even if they don’t end up being major characters, bringing in established actors who are recognizable to fans can add to the appeal of the show as well as help to maybe make awards shows realize the quality of the series as well as the acting.
