5 things we want to see from Eugene in season 10 of The Walking Dead
By Adam Carlson
3. Time to move up
With Rick Grimes moving on and Michonne scheduled to be leaving the show this year, that leaves more room for characters like Eugene to step up into bigger roles and assume leadership in different ways.
Sadly, Eugene has a tendency to move into the background of situations. This is a character trait of his that not only has benefits when it comes to conflict but it also means the group isn’t really getting everything they can out of him.
He should be strategizing more. Instead of making love charts for Rosita and Gabriel, he could be leading survivors on jobs, teaching them how to do things mechanically or scientifically, or working on ways improve the standard of living in the communities. His knowledge needs to be passed on and cultivated.
Eventually, someone will need to step up. While it is unlikely that Eugene will step into a leadership role in 2019, it is something that he should be thinking about since he does have a lot to offer the other survivors.
