The most selfless characters ever to appear on The Walking Dead

Henry
While some people may disagree or look at it another way, Henry’s actions post-time-jump in season 9 were out of kindness and selflessness.
Sure, running off to save Lydia from the Whisperers may have been naive and a little reckless, but it was done with good intentions. As he told Daryl (Norman Reedus) and others, he risked everything to save Lydia because she is “a good person who got messed up out there.” Henry knew the risk he was taking by trying to infiltrate such a dangerous group, but he had to try because he would not be able to live with sending someone who he connected with back to a life of abuse.
The fact that Henry’s desire to help those in need ultimately led to his death makes his story all the more tragic. While his time was cut short, his influence will be felt among the survivors throughout season 10. Losing another character who, like Glenn, maintained an optimistic outlook on life when so many have lost theirs will rock the group to its core. With that being said, I’m sure Henry would be happy to see Lydia being accepted as part of the group now, honoring him by learning to use his bo staff to fight the Whisperers (check out the trailer for season 10!).
It’s not difficult to pinpoint why Henry became such a selfless character who always looked to help people. Being raised by King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and a safe and happy Carol helped guide him to become the admirable person he grew up to be. Just like he says to Carol in season 9, “There’s right, and there’s wrong. You stand up for what’s right, and you fight what’s wrong. You taught me that.”
Henry lived by that honorable code until the end, making him one of the most selfless characters in The Walking Dead.
