The Walking Dead season 10: Aaron is out for blood in new image
By Joe LaBrosse
A newly-released image gives us a look at Aaron in The Walking Dead season 10, and he’s sporting a look that could kill.
Aaron (Ross Marquand) has come a long way since we were first introduced to him in The Walking Dead season 5. Gone is the innocent, clean-shaved recruiter with a hopeful outlook on the world. In his place is a rugged, hardened survivor who has experienced plenty of loss but still fights nonstop to protect the people he cares about. In addition, Aaron is both a leading council member of Alexandria and a father of a young girl in Gracie, so he has plenty on his plate heading into the new season.
In a newly-released image from season 10, we see Aaron sporting a new mace-like weapon attached to the end of his severed arm. Despite losing his arm early in season 9, it seems Aaron is ready to get back out on the battlefield. The weapon looks deadly to both walker and Whisperer alike, so he almost certainly will be a centerpiece in the conflict to come in season 10.
Based on the lighting and Aaron’s blood-covered face, this image may come from a scene in the trailer for season 10. In that clip, we see Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) standing over a bloodied and seemingly defeated Aaron. The rage in Aaron’s face may be due to the fact that he has Negan to thank for rescuing him.
We know that Negan is going to get back on the battlefield at some point and that Aaron is far from pleased about it based on the trailer. After all, Negan killed countless friends of Aaron’s, and the war between the Saviors and the other communities led to the death of Aaron’s partner Eric (Jordan Woods-Robinson). This conflict will certainly play some role in season 10, and it will be interesting to see how Aaron plays into Negan’s likely redemption arc.
Not only does Aaron have to deal with a former main villain in Negan, but he also has to cope with the newer threat of the Whisperers. Alpha’s (Samantha Morton) group has already taken the lives of people Aaron cares about, including his close friend Jesus (Tom Payne) in his first Whisperer encounter and Tara (Alanna Masterson), Enid (Katelyn Nacon), and Henry (Matt Lintz) during the pike massacre.
Needless to say, Aaron has vengeance on his mind in the upcoming battle against the Whisperers. His thirst for blood is written all over his face in the new image. Bloodshot and glazed over, one look at Aaron’s eyes show that he is sick and tired of all the loss he has suffered over the years.
Aaron seems to be intent on killing any and all enemies he faces, which we have learned is a dangerous way to live in the zombie apocalypse. Hopefully, Aaron’s focus on revenge won’t lead him into a dangerous position that he may regret. He may have lost a lot since we met him five seasons ago, but he still has Gracie and the people of Alexandria to live for.
