Previously only available digitally, the one-shot comic book The Walking Dead: The Alien will be in shops as a physical issue in November 2019.

Ever since The Walking Dead comic book series came to a surprising end earlier this year, fans and collectors have been scrambling to get their hands on just about anything to do with the series, including variants, alternates, one-shots, or other collectibles.

One thing that has eluded fans so far is a one-off called The Alien from Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin, which took a look at the zombie apocalypse happening in Europe and provided a surprising connection to the comic book source material.

That all will change on Nov. 23rd, 2019 though when a physical copy of the issue will be available from ComicsPro on Local Comic Shop Day with a suggested retail price of $5.99 as shared on the official Skybound website.

This is big news for collectors and completionists as it was previously only available in digital formats from the Panel Syndicate website with a “name your price” format that was very friendly for readers and allowed many fans to check out the interesting side story.

Not only that, but The Walking Dead creator has confirmed that the story in The Alien is cannon, meaning the events of this one-shot may not have had an impact on what happened on the original series but they took place in the same universe and are part of the same timeline.

At this time, Skybound hasn’t offered any specific links or other details about the upcoming release of The Walking Dead: The Alien other than noting that it will be 60 pages in full color with a rating of Mature with the story from Brian K. Vaughan and art/cover by Marcos Martin. Hopefully, fans will be able to pick up a copy on Local Comic Shop Day!
