Carol Peletier

Anyone that knows me knows I am a ride or die Carol fan and have been since season 1. A lot of articles like to mention the abuse victim turned badass, but to me, she has always been Carol, a survivor.

Reeling from the brutal loss of Henry at the hands of Alpha, we are seeing a side to Carol play across our screens that is different from what we’ve seen before. Carol has always been known for her tactical mind and ability to blend in. She is meticulous and thoughtful…. until now.

This Carol has a single-minded quest to avenge her son. She is acting recklessly at times, seeming to not care what happens to her as long as she takes out Alpha in the process.

While I don’t always agree with her actions, I understand them.

She has spent years suppressing her grief and running from her pain. Standing face to face (or mask to mask if you will) with the murderer of her son, Carol isn’t afraid but is easily goaded into action.

Her quest for revenge has impacted several other characters’ stories, none more than Daryl’s, and per Angela Kang, the quest will continue to impact the entire story going into 10B.

As a fan of the character and the amazing actress that plays her, its been fascinating to see how quickly she can go from joking with Daryl into revenge mode. I’m hoping by the end of this arc, Carol will allow herself to feel her grief and move past it. I want nothing more than to see her heal from her losses and find her true self.

On a side note: props to the costume department for fixing that mess of a wig and the dreadful clothing Carol wore last season.
