5. Father Gabriel’s speech

It’s absolutely crazy to think that at one point Father Gabriel was one of the most hated characters on The Walking Dead. He went from scared to even be near a walker and locking his congregation out to chatting with his girlfriend Rosita and loading guns in their home. What an insane transformation!

This character has been through quite a lot since we first met them, and over the seasons they have actually grown into more of a voice of reason. However lately with paranoia at an all-time high and war knocking at Alexandria’s doors, he has become very vengeful. Snapping at multiple other characters and going as far as murdering Dante in an extremely brutal fashion.

This episode while speaking to the council he decided to propose torture. It left the rest of the council members and viewers caught off guard and questioning the situation even more. Even in the way, he proposed it he was very hostile and angry. This certainly secured a top moment because while everyone has gone through a lot, torture is still a topic to not be taken lightly and it seems he hasn’t given it a second thought.

With Gamma now becoming Mary and joining our group against the whisperers it does bring up the thought maybe there are more like her out there. We have heard other whisperers speak of Hilltop with enthusiasm. So is torture the right way to go or does that make our group just as bad as the whisperers?
