2. Laura’s death

This is another moment that screams WTF for a couple of reasons, the first being that this was a death not many people were even sure happened until Talking Dead revealed Laura was in the In Memoriam. Many fans thought she was possibly unconscious and would be seen later on and confirmed fine.

This death was also sad for a variety of reasons, Laura had been on the show for a very long time and had not been given as much screentime as some viewers would have liked. She was a savior when we met her but there is something incredibly special about her story that she was about to grow so much that she was on the council at Alexandria and it’s a shame we couldn’t explore that more.

While it could have been hard as fans to see a savior join Alexandria, we are seeing now with how Mary’s character is being handled that it is possible. So losing Laura before we got to see her blossom into potentially a main character is sad. This death also makes the list because of its brutal nature.

Beta is a strong force within the whisperers and he killed Laura with nearly no effort. If a fighter like Laura could go down so easily, that means Beta could quickly take out some more loved characters during the Whisperer War and that thought is terrifying. Several people have gone toe-to-toe with Beta, and nobody has been able to kill him. He survived to cause much more destruction before his demise.

RIP Laura!
