The Walking Dead “Look at the Flowers” teaser suggests that Carol is reaching a breaking point after being haunted by Alpha.

In the past two seasons of The Walking Dead, Carol has lost her home, her adopted son Henry and she split with Ezekiel, all because of the Whisperers. Carol made it her mission to get revenge no matter what the cost. Even though Alpha marked her territory and our group accepted it, Carol did not. She planned to destroy everything Alpha was but in doing so she created a lot of issues for the communities. After Carol’s secret plan to have Negan kill alpha is successful, the teaser for episode 1014 suggests she might be reaching a breaking point.

In the teaser, Carol seems to be walking through the woods alone when she starts to hear her name whispered. When she looks around she sees no one but she continues to hear it. When she decides to ignore it, she hears a familiar voice say her name. That’s when we see Alpha standing behind her with a smile on her face and she tells Carol she is always watching.

So how could this be a breaking point for Carol? The first clue is that it is telling us that Carol will never be able to let go of Alpha. Carol will always have her and the Whisperers haunting her. Secondly, she’s consumed with the Whisperers and she let her obsession with killing Alpha cloud her judgment to the point she can’t change how she feels with Alpha dead or not. Through all of this, Alpha is the one that got the best of Carol, leading her to become a monster of her own, forming a new level of insanity.

Now the huge question is where is Carol’s story is leading to. Melissa McBride has a contract for at least two more years left on the show, but does this mean she will make it past this? Will Carol take the comic book death she avoided so long? Unlikely but with this world we never actually know when someone could go.
