Happy birthday to the actress who brings Luciana to life on Fear the Walking Dead
July 5 is Danay Garcia’s birthday and we’re here to celebrate the Fear the Walking Dead star on her big day. Garcia joined the show in season 2 and she has been a valuable member of the original team ever since.
Recently, Garcia appeared in the Quibi series 50 States of Fright from horror master Sam Raimi. Garcia’s episode took place in Florida, where she plays a police officer whose past links her to a crime scene under investigation.
In addition to acting, Garcia is a talented writer, director and producer. Her work on La Cura earned high praise during the film’s run on the film festival circuit. Garcia wrote, produced and directed the film, set in a small town in Mexico. Her production company, This Is Happening Productions, seeks to bring awareness to important causes while also providing inspiration through its work.
Garcia’s social media is always a bastion of positivity, with her regular Instagram live streams offering fans a chance to chat with her and hear what is happening in her life. She also does karaoke for fans, which is awesome.
For Fear TWD fans, when Luciana met Nick Clark in season 2, she wasn’t sure what to think of the strange young man who seemed to cheat death and laugh in the face of danger. Soon, they formed a formidable partnership to help the people of La Colonia, but a run-in with Jeremiah Otto’s cult of TEOTWAWKI enthusiasts changed their trajectory.
Recently, in season 5, Luciana befriended the kids the group discovered along the way. She and Dylan (Cooper Dodson) became very close, and she was the one who offered the kids reassurance as they were being driven away by Virginia’s people. Now, in season 6, Luciana will be tested more than ever before as she works to reunite with her friends.

There is currently no timeline for the return of Fear the Walking Dead for season 6 but it is expected at some point this summer. Garcia will be joining the cast for a panel at SDCC at Home, which takes place July 22-26 in lieu of San Diego Comic-Con.
