5. Eugene from the comics

Eugene is a character of vital importance in the comics, he is intelligent in many ways and the story needed him to move things forward. In the last issue of The Walking Dead comics we get a small story with Carl delivering him tools while he is working on the railroad. There is a legendary shot of his progress featured in the comic as well.

While Eugene is very important, and that can’t be taken from him, one huge reason why he is on this list, and breaking the top 5 is Andrea. She died saving his life. This was a death that devastated all readers and even warranted an apology letter in the back of her death issue.

I love that as a reader I go to see Eugene building the railroad, but I need more. I want to fully see what the death of Andrea meant to the story. I want to see Eugene happily living with Stephanie, in a beautiful loving relationship, and I want to see all the smaller accomplishments no matter what they are. I want her death to mean something more than what I got to see.

Eugene also deserves a one-shot to proudly show the life he built after all the horrible things that happened to him. I imagine for this character that fitting in and finding a place in Commonwealth was difficult, so a comic showing us this transition to a large community would make Andreas spirit and readers all very happy.
