Exclusive: Colman Domingo presents Fear TWD ‘It’s Not Over’ video
Colman Domingo presents a love letter to Fear TWD fans with “It’s Not Over”
As the Fear TWD fandom gets ready for all of the news coming out of Comic-Con at Home this week, Fear the Walking Dead’s Colman Domingo wants to give a gift to fans in the form of a special video he created with help from a Fear superfan named Alex Rex. The video, Fear TWD “It’s Not Over”, is a love letter that is a visual representation of the show’s biggest theme: Hope.
In our premiere episode of the Undead Walking Podcast, Domingo shared the story of how he came up with the concept for the video and how the collaboration happened. He also talks about his friendship with Kim Dickens and Frank Dillane, and we also chatted about Alycia Debnam-Carey’s birthday.
“It’s Not Over” includes clips from all five seasons, and watching them together serves as a reminder that even in the show’s early days, the message has always been one of hope. Without hope, all is lost.
Sometimes hope is all you have to keep you going in the middle of something as traumatic as a zombie apocalypse. The message is especially true right now, Domingo noted, with everything happening in the world on a daily basis.
Take a look at Fear TWD “It’s Not Over” from Colman Domingo and superfan Alex Rex:
Spanning five seasons and with a sixth season soon to come, Fear the Walking Dead has crossed the country from Los Angeles to Texas and over the years it has added several new faces to the original group. Through it all, their mission has been to stay together and keep the faith for a better future.
Working with superfan Alex Rex was a wonderful experience, Domingo said, and their collaboration was a fun challenge given that Domingo is in Los Angeles and Rex is in Russia.
Domingo noted that he had seen Rex’s videos and edits on social media so when he came up with the idea for the project, Rex was the perfect person for the job. He reached out and asked if Rex would be interested in a collaboration, and the project was born.
Rex paints a powerful picture with clips from all five seasons and when you see them together, and set to such a powerful song, the video has a very powerful impact that’s perfect for where we are right now.
With Fear the Walking Dead season 6 on the horizon and the fate of so many characters up in the air, this video is also the perfect way to remember the characters we’ve lost along the way while celebrating everyone who has made it this far.
Many thanks go out to Colman Domingo for bringing this message of hope to life, and we’re excited to see Victor Strand in action again when Fear the Walking Dead returns later this summer.
