The Walking Dead panel at SDCC gave us lots of great moments

During Comic-Con at Home 2020, the cast and crew of The Walking Dead delivered a ton of exciting news and memorable moments for fans in desperate need of news from their favorite show. Comic-Con served fans a virtual panel enlightened all of us with some great memories.

The Walking Dead panel was very much the light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel, giving us a very emotional experience.

Here are the Top 10 Moments from The Walking Dead Comic-Con at home:

Lauren Cohan’s Return

During The Walking Dead season 9, Maggie left in the same episode as Rick Grimes, but after a series of negotiations, Lauren Cohan and Angela Kang brought Maggie back into the show. This was greatly appreciated by the audience and was very exciting news. Fans have been even more excited knowing that Maggie will make her return in the season 10 finale, and now we know that we only have a few short months before we see it. We also got to see Lauren Cohan return to Comic-Con and it was fun to be able to have her back with the cast again.

The Walking Dead Season 10 finale release date

When work on The Walking Dead season 10 finale was halted fans were very saddened by this, but when it was in the wake of the pandemic no one was prepared for how long the shut down would be. It escalated into months, causing us to hold out high hope to hear the release date for the finale. Finally, with things starting to slowly calm down, we have learned the release date is on Sunday, October 4, 2020.

The Walking Dead Season 10 finale extra footage

This year’s Comic-Con didn’t feature anything for season 11 of The Walking Dead, since they haven’t been able to film yet, so we were given an extended look at the opening minutes to the season 10 finale. The extended look shows Beta putting in a lot of work building up the horde as we see thousands among thousands of walkers surrounding the hospital where our group is camping out. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to build excitement.

The Walking Dead Season 10 Extension

With filming of The Walking Dead season 11 on hold for now, Angela Kang delivered some news many fans weren’t prepared for: To hold us over in 2021, we will see an extension to season 10 of The Walking Dead. It will be a total of 6 extra episodes causing this to be the longest-running season yet.

Seeing the Cast Together Again

We’ve all been staying home a lot lately to try to stay safe. Seeing the cast and crew so happy and colorful brought a smile to our faces to know they’re doing okay.

Fun Moments between Melissa and Norman

Our favorite pair of best friends had us all laughing during the panel this year when Melissa made a funny comment about Daryl and Carol. When asked about there friendship, Melissa simply said “meh” causing the cast and fans to laugh. Then Norman later draws a sad face in response. It was great to smile and laugh with them all again.

Funny moments with Scott Gimple and Chris Hardwick

As we all know Scott M. Gimple is very secretive and does not like giving away anything about episodes or future news until he is ready. So just about any time Hardwick asks Gimple anything, he doesn’t give too much away and it’s a funny conflict between the two as Hardwick tries getting more information through each panel.

Talks of Negan and Maggie

We heard about what may happen in the future of The Walking Dead now that Negan is out of his cell and Maggie is coming back. What will Maggie think? Angela Kang elaborates, saying there will be tension arising when she finds out. This can only make us more excited about what’s to come in the future.

Paola Lazaro’s first Comic-Con

As we had an incredible debut for the character Princess, the actress Paola Lazaro was able to attend her first comic con and speak with the cast and fans. She did amazing and we look forward to seeing much more of her character in the future. She really felt like she’s a huge part of the family already because she is.

Funny Moment Between Josh McDermitt and Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Near the end of the panel, we get a great moment between the cast members showing that they still have fun despite being on a virtual panel. When asked about what he misses most, McDermitt said Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s “musk”, leading to a huge amount of laughter. It just goes to show how much this cast misses each other’s company.
