Non-gaming Norman Reedus fans can find out what Death Stranding is about.
Death Stranding, the video game starring The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus, is being novelized. Co-written by Kenji Yano, the book adaptation of the game is already available in Japan. The English version will be released in two editions that will be available in February 2021.
Norman Reedus plays Sam Porter Bridges, who must make his way across America on a mission given to him by the President of the United Cities of America. He is met with many obstacles along the way. The novel will follow the plot of the game and will be published in two volumes that are each 304 pages long.
The official synopsis reads:
"Mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural phenomena known as the Death Stranding. Spectral creatures that devour the living have pushed humanity to the brink of extinction, causing countries to fall and survivors to scatter and live in pockets of isolation. Sam Porter Bridges, the legendary porter with the ability to return from the world of the dead, has been entrusted with a critical mission by the President of the United Cities of America. He must journey across this ravaged landscape crawling with otherworldly threats to reconnect cities and people and rebuild America one step at a time."
In February, Hideo Kojima, creator of the game, shared the Death Stranding steel book edition that was available in Japan. The English versions available in 2021 will be released as paperbacks.
Death Stranding, the game, has won several awards and has been well received in the gaming community.
Along with Reedus, other actors involved are Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Troy Baker, Tommie Earl Jenkins, and Lindsay Wagner. With Mikkelsen winning an award for best performance for his role in the game.
Fans of Reedus that aren’t gamers have witnessed the hype surrounding this game and, as always, want to support Reedus in his many projects. Now, they will get the opportunity to see what Death Stranding is all about.
Reedus will return to AMC on October 4 in the long-awaited season ten finale of The Walking Dead.
